For the couple years I have been researching wheels for the disgUSTANG. At first, I was tempted by wheels found on American Muscle and Late Model Resto's websites. I thought 5-Spokes looked the best - Saleens, 95 Cobra's, 03 Cobra's - hell, even Bullitts were incredibly attractive.
In the past month, my tastes have changed. This change has been largely motivated by money - which I've learned is really typically with this "car hobby". These wheels are expensive, with sets going for at least $600 USD (about $730 CAD for me). Taking a step back, I realize compared to the rest of the aftermarket industry, these are pretty good prices for tried & true wheels. However, I'm still not a rich man.
Besides money problems, I had problems with the products themselves. They were reproductions - technically "poser shit". But maybe that's me getting irrationally mad at something my broke ass can't afford. Regardless, this ignited my quest for 5-spoke, OEM wheels, because they were the real "legit shit" (if it wasn't obvious, I'm desperately trying to sell this decision as a better one). And this wasn't new in the SN95 world - I've seen many people swap New Edge wheels and S197 wheels onto their 95's.
Here's where I needed to be different. No repo's, no mustang wheels - but they had to be OEM. Using https://www.stockwheels.com/, I researched many, many wheels, searching for the perfect one. Until I found this:
